‘Lovely!' was how 67 Pall Mall's Beatrice Bessi summed up this worthy Gold medal recipient, going on to describe it as ‘fresh, intense and rich, and full of ripe orange, tangerine, guava and saffron notes, with some minerality to complete the picture'. A similarly impressed James Fryer of Woodhead 17 spoke of ‘smoke, apricots and almonds, with touches of gunmetal', followed by ‘a textural palate, with golden fruits, and lychee tropical fruit too'.
Puglia took the Gold here, with Hakkasan's Olivier Gasselin enjoying its ‘ripe and juicy, pear-like fruit with liquorice hints, juicy, mineral and leafy palate that's intense with fine texture, oiliness and minerality', while Lime Wood Hotel's Christopher Parker picked up ‘ripe apricots with gala melon notes, and a wild heather floral touch with ground white pepper'. For Diana Rollan of More than Wines Academy, ‘intense citrus and grassy notes, with good spice, balance, texture and weight' made this ‘perfect for green curry'.

Aromas of papaya, pineapple, orange curd and chamomile. It’s ripe, fruity and fleshy with a medium to full body. Bright and delicious finish. Drink now.

Intense, well-balanced fruit with notes of ripe citrus fruits, Williams pear and nuances of passion fruit, as well as soft notions of white blossoms. Pleasantly dry on the palate and beautifully fresh thanks to the vibrant acidity. Good length with stone fruit notes.

Rich aromas of melon and apple meld with white blossoms on the nose. This is playful and fruity on the palate in juicy tones of apricot skins and pineapple, while a gentle grip of white tea and tangy acidity keep it all buttoned up. Alexander Peartree

(Verdeca, Fiano, Minutolo, im Stahltank ausgebaut). Kräftiges Goldgelb. Sehr intensive und komplexe Nase, deutlich reifer Apfel, Mango, Bananen. Limetten, Zitronenmelissen, Pfefferminze. Im Auftakt weich und sehr kraftvoll, reife Frucht, voluminöser Körper, zeigt Rundungen, hat Charme, die süsslich anmutende Fülligkeit wird durch eine moderate Säure abgemildert, neben Zitrus- Exotischen Früchten zeigt der Wein auch deutlich salzige Noten. Das ist wie ein Frucht-Cocktail auf einem von der Sonne aufgeheizten Felsvorsprung der ab und zu von einem Spritzer salzigem Meerwasser überspült wird. Im Abgang von wunderbarer Länge, macht – trotz 14% Alkohol – Lust auf den nächsten Schluck. Nein, das ist kein eleganter oder gar frischer Wein, aber eine aromatisch sehr interessante Kuriosität, die viel Druck und eine sehr gute Komplexität zeigt. Wer diesen Wein, gut gekühlt zu einem mediterranen (Fisch-)Gericht serviert (wir haben dazu Mini-Knäckebrote mit Butter und Sardellenfilets genossen, was eine wunderbare Kombi war), dürfte viel Freude daran haben. Jetzt bis 2022 geniessen, 17.5 vvPunkte (89/100).

Really exotic and tropical on the nose with a honey character, but then turns to honeydew melon. Really complex. A little bit of creaminess; expands on the palate. Has a minerality and chalkiness to it, with texture.
