2018 Vintage
Tasted: Sep 2021
This Pinot starts off plush, fruity and relatively rich, with red fruit, mealy oak, baking spice and floral notes. It's saved by the palate that is unexpectedly elegant, lifted and fresh, wound by spicy, chalky tannins that have muscle but never take over. Red berry and spice flavors flow gracefully to the finish. Christina Pickard

This straightforward Central Otago Pinot balances strawberry and cherry fruit with earthy, savory notes and oak spice. There's a good lick of acidity on the palate and herb-flecked tannins underpinning subtle berry fruit flavors. Christina Pickard
2016 Vintage
Tasted: Jul 2019
This is a solid offering from Peregrine's second label. The nose is an exotic mix of cumin, orange peel, brambly fruit, floral potpourri and cola-oak nuances. The palate feels a little less cohesive but still delivers a silky texture and tangy berry fruit and spice ensconced in soft sinewy tannins. There's a good lick of oak here which rears up on the finish in particular. Christina Pickard
2015 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2018
There's a lot to love about this Pinot's aromatics, with notes of florals, meat, roasted peppers, chocolate covered cherries and whole peppercorns. The palate, however, is less in tune, for the moment at least. Light to medium-bodied, the oak is prominent, very nearly drowning out the juicy fruit, and the acidity is almost biting. The tannins, though, are silky and well-structured. Drink 2019–2025.
2014 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2017
The best effort to date from Peregrine's second label, this is a chunky but velvety-textured wine. Ground spices and earth notes add nuance to the plummy fruit, which manages to finish bright and fresh. Drink now–2022.
2013 Vintage
Tasted: Mar 2015
A very attractive value in Pinot Noir, this Kiwi rendition tastes elegant and sophisticated, with nuanced flavors and aromas and nary a hint of candied excess. At 13% alcohol, it is neither hot nor heavy but rather supple and smooth. If only more New World Pinots could try to fit this profile!(Paul Lukacs)

A sturdy, muscular style of Pint Noir, the 2013 Mohua delivers black cherry and plum fruit, hints of coffee and dark chocolate and a long, dusty finish. You could drink it now with rare beef or lamb, or hold it another year or two for the tannins to mellow a bit. Drink 2016–2023.

Tasted: Jan 2010
This is a pretty, elegant rendition of Central Otago Pinot Noir, with delicate cherry and herbal notes on the nose and a palate that adds hints of coffee and chocolate to the mix. Finishes crisp and tangy. Drink over the next 6–12 months.
2008 Vintage
Tasted: Nov 2009
Youthful so fresh but also not yet evolved, this is a delicious Pinot Noir, praiseworthy especially for its excellent balance and light, lithe character. In my experience, good Pinots from Central Otago in New Zealand’s South Island tend to feel silky and almost delicate on the palate. This one definitely fits that bill. Its flavors do seem a little simple at present, but I’d be willing to bet that the wine will become more complex and compelling with a year or two of bottle age. If true, it definitely will merit a 90+ score. (Paul Lukacs)
