This is a charmingly brash and impressively bold expression with blueberry, blackberry and mocha ,as well as cedary oak. The palate is very fleshy, concentrated and dense with a sturdy bed of polished and long tannins. Such impressive length, youthfulness and power. Wow! Drink or hold.

Kräftiges Karmingranat, Ockerreflexe, breitere Randaufhellung. Elegant, zunächst etwas verhalten, feines rotes Waldbeerkonfit, facetterreich und von delikater Zartheit, ein Hauch von Dörrobst, frische Kirschen, sehr verführerisch. Seidig, delikat, finessenreiche Struktur, rote Waldbeeren, feine Tannine, ausgewogen, anhaltende Süße, einer der ganz großen Grange, zeigt sich in Bestform. Peter Moser

Thick, concentrated and dense, there is a lot of coconut, dill, black and blue fruit with jam in the nose. Powerful, but lacking elegance. Still young, it will age well, while this is a good wine, I do not think this is one of the great vintages for Penfolds Grange. 94 Points

The winter was dry and turned into a warm spring, which then developed into a hot, dry summer. The result was a large rich, ripe harvest.
