Petrus is not actually a 'chateau' per se, although it is often referred to as such.
Critic tasting note: (1989 vintage) "Served blind, there was no doubting this was Pomerol. The concentrated, opulent layers of dark red and black plums, cherries dipped in chocolate, flowers and truffle grabbed you, held you and kept you interested from start to finish. Served blind, there was no doubting this was Pomerol. The concentrated, opulent layers of dark red and black plums, cherries dipped in chocolate, flowers and truffle grabbed you, held you and kept you interested from start to finish. Perhaps at close to 33 years of age, this is starting to show its true colors.

Ruby, thin brick rim. Scented, detailed, nuanced, wow, what a nose, layered, just opens up like a peacock tail in all facets. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, blackberries, dates, figs, scented, nuanced, layered, super sexy texture, layered and long. Stunning!
