2009 Pierre de Lune. The property is owned Tony Ballu, winemaker for Clos Fourtet. The small (1 hectare) biodynamically farmed vineyard is planted on sand and gravel. From 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc, the wine offers black and blue fruit aromas coupled with licorice and espresso notes. Full bodied with round textures, this rich wine ends with supple, jammy dark berry flavors.
