On the nose, a herbal, spicy aroma, with mint and lemon balm. On the palate, the wine is ideally structured, with a vein of lively acidity, a pinch of carbon dioxide, good extract, and restrained, balanced sweetness, with a hint of phyllite minerality running through. An unusually sophisticated Gutsriesling.

Sortentypisch in der Nase, grüner Apfel, Zitronenzesten, Pfirsich, Schieferwürze, nasses Gestein. Am Gaumen geradlinig, klar, guter Säurezug, schlank im Körper, mittelgewichtig im Extrakt, mineralische Würze, leicht salzig, dahinter Frucht von Pfirsich, dazu Zitrone.

Enticing spring blossom, white peach and Amalfi lemon aromas with a touch of herbal freshness. Elegant and racy with a tight core of wet stone minerality and fine tannins. Very crisp and bright finish. For a basic dry riesling this should age extremely well. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

This Riesling grabs one’s attention upon first sip. It is bone dry, with intense, round flavors of peach and Rainier cherry fruit interlaced with saline mineral notes and crisp acidity that leaves the tongue tingling. It can handle a Caprese salad or curried shrimp. In 1867, founder Dr. Robert Weil was working as a professor of German at the Sorbonne in France when he purchased vineyards in Germany. Today, his great-grandson, Wilhelm, oversees their vineyards and winery operations. Their Trocken, which means dry, is their entry level wine made from the estates’ grapes grown near their classified hillside vineyards. What a great introduction to this variety and the wines of the Rheingau. (Rebecca Murphy)

Der Wein ist frisch und zitrisch im Duft mit einer Prise Schieferterroir. Im Mund geradlinig, gut proportioniert, sehr klar in allen Komponenten, mittel- bis leichtgewichtig. Ein ausgewogener, kompletter Rheingauer Riesling für viele Gelegenheiten.

Eine schöne Würze im Duft, Rheingau pur, sogar mit etwas Mineralischem im Aromenmix. Gute Proportion, nicht zu breit, zart mineralisch getönt auch im Mund, feingliedriger Säurenerv, Saftigkeit und Spannung, toller Gutsriesling – komplett und sogar verfeinert.

Attractive aromas of flowers and stone fruit here,. This has a very fresh feel. The palate is succulent, precise and elegantly delivered with some honey, ripe peaches and hints of mangoes. Seamless, concentrated and dry. Drink now.

This is a terrific dry Riesling from Robert Weil’s VDP Erste Lage Turmberg vineyard. It displays the concentration and depth of flavor that you’d expect from a master vintner and a top site and vintage, yet retains Riesling’s magically lithe, effortless freshness. Subtle floral aromas lead to open, expressive flavors of apples, stone fruits and tangerines, with wonderfully integrated acidity and intriguing mineral undertones that provide interplay with the fruit and keep this interesting sip after sip until you’ve drained the bottle, as I did, joyfully. (100% Riesling): Helles Gelb, jugendlicher Glanz. Feine Nase, fruchtbetont, Apfel, Pfirsich, dezent reduktive Note, gute Komplexität. Im Gaumen von mittlerer Intensität, zeigt etwas Schmelz, die markante, etwas warm anmutende Fruchtsüsse wird von einer moderaten Säure balanciert, aromatisch wieder mit Apfel und weissem Pfirsich, endet mittellang. Ein sauberer, allerdings wenig spektakulärer Riesling. Bis 2023 geniessen. 16.5 vvPunkte (84/100)

Technisch perfekt gemachter, im ersten Moment noch verhaltener, dann leicht gelbfruchtiger Basiswein. Blitzsauber mit einer animierenden Säure. Nach den ersten Schlucken stellt sich direkt Trinkfluss ein. Saftig!

Eine archetypische Rieslingwürze, frisch, präzise, sogar leicht mineralsich. Am Gaumen saftig, mittelgewichtig, reife Säure und relativ präsente Süße, hat aber auch genug Frucht, um die Süße einzubinden. Inhaltsreicher Gutsriesling.

The slight hint of funk in the nose that quickly turns into a flinty note, announces a change of style at this famous estate. Perhaps the sugar levels weren't high. Yet, this is rather bold as well as very crisp. Discreet, white-fruit character and quite a salty mineral finish. Drink now.
