Critic tasting note: (2022 vintage) "Engagingly complex nose of sweet tobacco, roasted spices, cedar, paprika, cocoa powder, white pepper and cassis. This wine shows elegance, combining Chilean ripeness and opulence with something more restrained that one might relate to Bordeaux. This is layered and medium- to full-bodied with fine tannins and a creamy, lengthy finish that goes on and on. There is spot-on balance. Drink or hold." - James Suckling

Casa Real Reserva Especial has its origins in the old block of Carneros Viejos, which was planted in the mid-1970s with a mass selection of Cabernet Sauvignon. The best vines have been selected for decades through analysis in the vineyards and in the wine, always seeking to obtain balance and low yields to protect its essence. The vineyard has been divided into several small blocks over time, each of which presents unique characteristics that are essential for the final blend.
