Critic tasting note: (2020 vintage) "In true Hawke's Bay style, this is a powerful red, but with succulent fruit and bright acidity. A perfume of plums and cassis leads. Fistfuls of peppery, earthy spice, tobacco leaf, black olive brine and violets are underneath. Tasted: Nov 2021
Fantastic core of dark ruby and purple hues with bold, ripe and spicy aromas of black berry and black currant, purple flowers and peppery spices, toasty barrel spices of vanilla and clove. Youthful, complex and enticing. Equally bold and expressive on the palate with flavours of dark berries and peppery spices, raspberry, black currant and violets rest on a core of stony mineral qualities. Well made and ready to drink from late 2022 through 2029+. Fantastic value pricing as well.
