The ‘Coast Range Estate’ is located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA and is set at 700 feet, with a combination of volcanic and marine sedimentary soils. This comes off very tart and salty — but in a really good way. Rich loganberry and cranberry tones combine with salty kirsch and menthol notes on the palate. Refined and elegant, with pretty high red flower notes aromatically, this is showing really beautifully now even at two years of age. The terroir is evident in the glass and for my palate, this is the best ‘Coast Range’ bottling that winemaker James Frey has crafted yet.

The ‘Coast Range Estate’ is located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA and is set at 700 feet, with a combination of volcanic and marine sedimentary soils. The palate is very salty and savory with dried herbs alongside sour kirsch, linzer torte and blood orange zest with tobacco undercurrents. Very elegant and restrained, this beautiful wine is already nicely evolved and will cellar well for at least another decade.

A cooler site, the ‘Coast Range Estate’ is set on both marine sedimentary and volcanic soils in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Pretty red cherry candy and rose water tones collide with peat moss and suggestions of wild mushroom on this beautiful nose. The palate is fresh, saline drenched and full of life, showing salted charcuterie tones that meld with the bright core of red fruits, blood orange rind and white truffle shavings. With generous length and a soft texture, this beautiful wine has a long life ahead of it.

This offers attractive freshness and purity with a vivid, red-cherry and blueberry nose. Some sappy notes and wild herbs, too. The palate delivers fresh, assertive tannins that carry vibrant, concentrated red cherries. Drink or hold.

This is an interesting wine with pretty fruit flavors of cherry candy, accented with citrus rind, graphite and dried herbs. That said, it turns a bit chalky in the finish, which shuts it down prematurely. Paul Gregutt

The 22 acre ‘Coast Range Vineyard’ is set on both volcanic and marine sedimentary soils. The volcanic terroir on the nose is wonderful, as is the whiff of salinity that runs through the red fruit driven aromatics. The palate is high-toned, fresh and invigorating with bright red fruits that mingle with shades of black truffle, volcanic earth and kumquat. Enjoy this beautiful bright and earthy Pinot Noir over the next ten to fifteen years.

From a cool site set on sedimentary and volcanic soils, this sets a sleek, supple tone throughout the palate. It deftly mixes in strata of earth and herb under black cherry fruit. Tannins are polished and firm. It's drinking well already, but seems likely to improve further with additional bottle aging. Paul Gregutt

Sourced from the Trisaetum, 22 acre Coast Range Vineyard, this wine weighs in at 13.7% alcohol. The vineyard is set on volcanic and marine sedimentary soils. This translucent colored Pinot Noir wine opens with a bright bouquet of rose petals, smoke, sandalwood and red cherry starburst candy. The palate has wonderful structure, red fruit flavors and elegance. Guava, pomegranate seed, orange rind and red cherry flavors come to mind. This would be the perfect match for grilled salmon. Drink this delicious wine over the next decade.

This cool site, set on sedimentary and volcanic soils, brings a blend of five clones into focus. Dark and juicy, muscular and complex, it weaves together plum and cherry fruit, a whiff of truffle, and finishes with a touch of coffee from the barrel aging.

This estate vineyard is generally prone to cool-site characteristics, meaning more of an emphasis on leaf and root and herb. Peppery herb and tart red fruits combine in an elegant, precise midpalate, suggesting wild strawberry and carrying a dash of sea salt caramel through the finish.

Strawberry and raspberry flavors are fresh and clean, not thin, but less robust than previous vintages. It's a delicate, nicely crafted wine that could be cellared through 2025.

A defining citrus streak runs through this young, tangy wine from start to finish. Briary purple fruits carry appealing flavors of cola and sassafras, and the full body and crisp definition keep the wine complex and evolving as it sits in the glass. More bottle age should improve it even further.

Rhubarb, pie cherry and tart strawberries comprise the fruit component of this young, tangy Pinot Noir. The acidity is still pronounced, and suggests that further aging is a good idea. A nice dusting of cinnamon adds interest to the finish.

Notes of cola, earth, sassafras and spicy berry bring a textural, diverse set of flavors to this mellow Pinot Noir. With a hint of dried herb, it shows fine balance and impressive complexity.
