Ripe dark fruit, toasted cedar, ground cloves and a hint of chocolate on the nose. The palate is a bit simple and fluid, with a medium body and a spiced, bitter finish. Drink now.

Tasted: Oct 2024
The nose has the sweetness of milk chocolate, the slight tartness of raspberries and the texture of tobacco leaf. The palate preserves all of those elements, with a cherry undertone lifting the raspberries in particular, while firm tannins provide an invigorating grittiness.

Raspberries, coffee, dried herbs and roasted mushrooms on the nose. Lightly jammy on the palate, with juicy tannins and a full body. Soft and easygoing. Drink now.

Dark ruby with garnet reflections. Intense nose with notes of dark fruit, tar and eucalyptus. The fruit isn't as present on the palate, pleasantly fresh but slightly bold tannins.

This deep-red Primitivo shows blood, cherries, a touch of prickly pear and a hint of particle board on the nose. The palate brings in vanilla, nutmeg and a hint of candied orange, all settled into juicy berries and plush tannins. Danielle Callegari

Rich blackberries, tar and dark chocolate on the nose with some dried dark fruit, too. Juicy, with some tart blackberries and a light bittersweet note in the center-palate. This easy Primitivo delivers brambly aromas of blackberry and dark plum alongside tilled soil, violet and orange. It's supple on the palate, with a mix of tart and juicy fruit that help fill out the billowy texture. Alexander Peartree

Tinto elaborado exclusivamente a partir de Primitivo, com estágio de 12 meses em barricas de carvalho americano. Carnudo e sedutor, mostra ameixas e amoras acompanhadas de notas florais, de ervas e de especiarias doces, tudo bem equilibrado por acidez refrescante e taninos de boa textura. Tem final carnudo e cheio, pedindo mais um gole, de preferência na companhia de queijos maduros. Álcool 12,5%.

Made with organic grapes, this Primitivo offers aromas of tar, bologna and smoke on the nose. The palate is equally savory, with a creamy smoked cherry flavor filling out the core. Mild tannins and easy acidity make this a straightforward offering. Alexander Peartree

Tones of cherry and slightly charred herbs carry the nose and palate. This is dense at first but turns brighter on the midpalate after a resurgence of acidity, with dense, dark cherry transitioning to lighter strawberry. Alexander Peartree

In comparison to many primitivos, this tastes quite light, but it still begins rather sweet and rich with dried-date and fig aromas. Thankfully, some nice dry tannins come through on the finish. Drink now with hearty winter stews and game dishes.

Aromas of ripe plum, espresso, sawdust, cocoa and allspice lead the nose. The palate offers mature blackberry, black pepper, oak extract and roasted coffee bean alongside raspy, astringent tannins.
