This full-bodied, deeply concentrated example is showing its secondary characteristics beautifully now. It's still rare in the U.S. for consumers to have access to dry, well-aged Riesling, and the library-release bottlings from Villa Wolf are both well-priced and high in quality. Crisp yellow plum and white peach aromas are still vibrant but etched by notes of spice and earth in this exciting library release. Dry and moderately full-bodied, it's a richly extracted, silken wine filigreed by steel and spine-tingling acidity. Gorgeous now but should continue to improve through 2025 and hold further still. Cool and crisp with cassis and white-flower aromas. This is a very attractive and rather elegant dry Pfalz riesling with a long, quite mineral finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap closure.

Duftig: Zitronenmelisse und Zitronat, Rosmarinblu?te. Im Mund sehr balanciert, rund und mineralisch begleitet, feinnervige Eleganz auf weichem Hintergrund, unbeschwerlich trotz 13 %, nahezu moselartiger Stil.

Hints of smoke and savory, dried herbs add an earthy shadow to this dry, full-bodied Riesling. It's refreshing and easy drinking, with abundant lemon and lime flavors.
2006 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2009
At first, this Riesling looks sort of bland and troubled—the aromas are nondescript, the mouthfeel broad. But this wine really improves given time—the melon and peach fruit comes alive and crisp, citrusy notes assert themselves on the finish.
2005 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2006
(2006) Monopole. A fair bit of ferment character here still, with solid fruit beneath, though little notes of clove and banana. Lots of racy lemon fruit. Bone dry and a touch austere at present, with some real minerality in the finish of this. Bone dry, but that minerality will make this very interesting once the fruit character comes through.
2003 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2005
Citrusy and leaner than most spätlesen in this vintage of unremitting heat, wih candied lime and green apple aromas and flavors, and a prickle of CO2 on the palate. Turns a bit metallic and hard on the finish. Imported by Loosen Bros. USA.
2002 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2004
This is relatively rich and close to dry, with apple and stone fruit flavors complemented by floral aromas and a weighty finish.
