Expert tasting note: (1999 vintage) "Medium to deep ruby-red, not quite opaque, but very deeply pigmented. On the nose dark red-fruit is overlaid by notes of over-maturity & plentiful new oak. On the palate the ripe fruit is quite closed. There is nice clean cedary oak & plentiful tobacco notes. The wine's concentrated, supple texture show the depth of fruit while firm tannic grip closes the finish up quite quickly." - 11/04 DCAMW
