Expert tasting note: "The color is a pale greenish yellow. The nose shows aromas are of delicate honeysuckle perfumes over rich honey. The wine is very sweet, full-bodied & rich-textured with notes of marzipan & vanilla. This is a wine of power & structure, there are concentrated stone-fruit flavors & honey on the mid-palate. The 2005 de Fargues is medium to deep straw-gold in color. It rolls out with ready-to-go notes of honey toast, peach preserves, pineapple paste, and orange marmalade with touches of walnut cake and burnt sugar. Rich and unctuous, the palate has a lively line to lift the dense, spicy fruit to a long finish.

Medium golden yellow, silver reflections. Ripe baby pineapple, a touch of botrytis savouriness, mango and papaya are underlying. Juicy, deep, a touch of wood, fine fruitiness, integrated acidity. Still a bit youthfully unbalanced, will benefit from further ageing.

Medium greenish-yellow, glinting silver. Fine yellow tropical fruit, hints of pineapple, passion fruit and ripe mango, candied orange zest, honey nuances, subtle botrytis savouriness, pleasant wood spiciness. Juicy, powerful, yellow peach, integrated sweetness, good freshness and length; certainly has ageing potential.

With a massive bouquet of honeysuckle to dig through before moving on to all the honey-coated pineapples, apricots, white peach, apricot and candied mango, the wine is rich, luscious, sweet and vibrant with an energetic shot of acidity on the palate to keep everything upbeat and fresh. Quite floral in nature with its strong honeysuckle opening notes. You also find layers of ripe and overripe pineapple, apricot, lemon curd, vanilla and honey. Pretty nose of candied pineapples, dried peaches, lemons, cream. Creamy, velvety with sweet pineapples, honey, beeswax and creamy tangerine that grow on your palate. Really long and creamy. Drink or hold.

Deep amber verging on a pale tawny in the glass. Slightly oxidized and pungent concoction of saffron, spice, mandarin and crème brulée. The palate is surprisingly fresh and lively underneath a complex kaleidoscope of tertiary sweet and savoury flavours. There is an extremely pleasurable bitterness on the finish which offsets the sweetness of this wine.

Deep amber with golden reflections. Immediately tantalizing nose of resin, bitter seville marmalade and warming saffron. Viscose and rich across the palate, intensely flavourful with layers of nuts, toast, vanilla and marmalade. Extraordinarily long with a perfumed aftertaste.

Brilliant golden-amber hue. The nose offers a deep and savoury intensity with dried orange peel, honey drizzled lemon, and sweet floral and hazelnut notes. Beautifully balanced palate of layered luscious sweetness simultaneously punctuated by a lemon zest freshness. Long slightly mineral, finish.

Zesty, sweet, honeyed tropical fruits, apricot and candied orange are out in force. There is good depth, volume and lift. You can certainly enjoy this now, or age it another 5-7 years.

The wine has a deep golden/bronze color. Aromas are of caramel, honey & burned sugar. The wine is very sweet, of medium weight and has bitter touches. Acidity gives some freshness & alcohol is balanced. There is a rich texture & the burned sugar notes last well. 04/25 DCAMW

This is a wine of power & structure, there are concentrated stone-fruit flavors & honey on the mid-palate. The wine has balanced alcohol. Plentiful fresh acidity makes the concentrated ripe nectarine fruit very juicy and leaves the finish clean. Alcohol adds richness to the finish which is well-rounded & endures well. 04/22 DCAMW

Medium yellow colour. Lovely intense, rich aromas of mango, honey & botrytis. A very sweet wine (133 g/ltr RS) with excellent balancing acidity & beautifully balanced alcohol. Possiubly the biggest & richest Sauternes of the vintage. The flavours are beautifully married & the finish combines pure runny honey with lime & orange blossom notes.
