This is like the amazing 1994 (a unicorn of the vintage) or the 1990, but more modern and precise. Medium-bodied with a fine, compacted texture, this shows green-olive tapenade and cedar. The tannins are so refined, running the length of the wine. In the 1980s, they used to say this was Burgundy- or pinot-like. It is, and in such a good way. Brings a nice smile to my face. Pure merlot. Only 13 barrels made.

2024 Vintage Tasted: Apr 2025

Black raspberries, mint, flowers, licorice, spice, espresso, and cherries produce the aromatic profile. One of the most sensuous wines of the vintage, the wine is elegant, slightly firm, and vibrant, with supple-textured black cherries, plums, cocoa, and black raspberries along with accents of spice, and sea-salt in the finish. The sense of purity is already expressive on the palate, and in the finish. Produced from 100% Merlot, 13% ABV, 3.72 pH, the harvest took place September 20-September 29, in four stages. Yields were only 29 hectoliters per hectare, making production quite small this year, with roughly 350 cases produced. Drink from 2029-2044.

Nez délicat offrant une jonction des univers de Le Pin sur ce millésime 2024 : le frais et le solaire. Le premier nez exprime une aromatique somme toute classique, marquée par le floral et les fruits noirs, dans un joli mélange de cassis, cerises noires et violettes. Mais derrière, au loin, se distingue très finement l’identité de Le Pin. Il faut longuement aérer le vin pour percevoir ce mélange des genres, offrant des notes épicées, florales, fruitées et très finement zestées. Ces dernières vont petit à petit se développer, apportant de l’énergie. Encore plus loin, on retrouve un côté finement crayeux, et aussi salin, légèrement épicé. Quelle complexité ! Très belle prise en bouche, juteuse et fruitée. La texture est d’ores et déjà magnifique. Le caractère tannique est crayeux, très finement ciselé, et gagne en intensité dans la longueur de manière remarquable. Ils sont véritablement magnifiques ! Ce cheminement global représente très bien le caractère solaire qui est intervenu durant l’été 2024. Très équilibré tout en offrant une grande longueur et une incroyable fraîcheur, on peut dire que Le Pin 2024 incarne parfaitement la météo du millésime ! 99/100

This shows purity of fruit with energy and focus. Medium-bodied, it has a precise and micro-polished palate giving refined, seamless tannins that are very silky and tensioned. Wow. Touches of iron, black pepper, hazelnuts and some finely etched wood spices and cream that will take a few years to digest. Hints of dark earth/mushrooms, citrus and black sesame as well. Long, vibrating and beautiful, with focus at the end. A more approachable young Pomerol, but it will hold beautifully for the next 20 years. Drink from 2028.

It features notes of violets and black cherries, complemented by grated black winter truffle. The structure is seamless, showcasing an excellent mid-palate with vibrancy, refinement, sophisticated touch, and remarkable aftertaste. It is just as captivating as it was when sampled from the barrel. The texture is reminiscent of liquid cashmere!

It is the striking bouquet of flowers that first captures your attention before you notice the sensually textured, sweet, ripe, fleshy plums, cherries, espresso, and chocolate. Medium-bodied, with a unique, textured character, complemented by lift, length, and purity, Le Pin stands out from every other Pomerol. This is clearly a contender for one of the wines of the vintage. Produced from 100% Merlot, harvesting took place on September 11 and September 23. Drink from 2029 - 2050.

Quite a rich version with intense and dense flavours. An impression of sweetness but filled with charming salinity. Lovely vibrancy and great, velvety texture. Oak is currently clearly present but well supports the wine. Very long finish.

Shows the exotic nature of Le Pin with blackberries, milk chocolate and hints of spices, as well as coffee beans from the ripe seeds in the grapes. It's medium-bodied with focused and creamy tannins. Also plenty of nectarine and clementine character. This is so classic Le Pin at the finish. It lasts for minutes in your mouth. Silky and flavorful. 100% merlot magic.

2021 Vintage Tasted: Apr 2024

This is really pure and primary with very clean and bright aromas of crushed grapes. Minerally and floral with brightness and vividness. Just a hint of smoke and meat. Medium-bodied with a tight and poised center palate and a racy finish. Structured in a classic, great Bordeaux way. Needs five or six years to come together and soften, but this is seamless and wonderful. Drink after 2030 and beyond.

Quite floral in nature, it is the vivacious nature, sensuality, and freshness in the fruits that stand out. Picture, velvety-textured, black plums with dark chocolate, saffron, orange peel, cumin and black raspberries that caress and paint your palate with layers of fruit. There is a sublime sense of purity, paired with elegance and vivacity that sticks with you in the precise finish for close to 60 seconds. Produced from 100% Merlot, 14.4% ABV, 3.77 pH, the harvest took place September 6 - September 17. Yields were only 29 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2026-2055.

One of the stars of the vintage for sure.

A wide spectrum of aromatics: floral, fruity and spice. Highly vibrant acidity, firm and fu ll mid-palate, wrapped up in the dark chocolate like tannins, yet also gentle and polished! It deserves an American style of cry: OMG! Lots of scents on the palate lingering at the finish.

Il offre de l’onctuosité aérienne, de l’harmonie, de la complexité et de la délicatesse, un fin côté infusion, associées aux notes de mûre de boysen éclatante, de myrtille pulpeuse/éclatante, de bleuet ainsi qu’à de fines pointes de cerise bigarreau, presque une discrète pointe de rôti ainsi qu’à de délicates pointes de graphène, de vanillé et à une imperceptible pointe presque fumée. La bouche est joliment menée, joliment fraiche, élégante, aérienne et offre une jolie délicatesse et intensité dans sa fraicheur et dans sa densité, un joli côté velouté/aérien, tout en délicatesse et subtilité. Elle exprime les notes de mûre pulpeuse/juteuse, de cassis frais/éclatant et plus légèrement – de violette associées à des touches de minéralité racée/fraiche, une fine pointe séveuse/infusion en fond ainsi qu’à des fines pointes de cerise rôtie et fraiche et à des discrètes pointes de tabac blond frais, de rose et à une subtile ponte de chocolat noir. Les tannins sont souples, élégants et polis. Bonne longueur. Petite sapidité en fond. Belle harmonie, une jolie délicatesse et un fin côté presque crayeux en fond. Une très belle fraicheur et une subtile pointe de chocolaté en fond.

Le nez est fruité en élégance avec une jolie délicatesse et un joli soyeux dans la richesse. On perçoit de la concentration en équilibre, une fine crémosité et un joli grain fin. On a des notes de mûres de boysen crémeuses, de petits fruits noirs sauvages assez mûrs mais frais et plus légèrement de fraises écrasées associées à des touches de bleuets, d’épices douces et ainsi qu’à de délicates pointes de badiane et une subtile note de rose voire de géranium et de poivre. Une subtile pointe presque grillée voire poudrée apparaît. C’est un nez complexe. La bouche est fraîche avec une trame acidulée et de la minéralité. Il y a de la justesse, de l’énergie et une jolie définition qui accompagne de la tension et de la puissance tout en délicatesse. Ce vin a une certaine crémosité couplée à un petit côté aérien parfaitement équilibré. La fraîcheur permet à des notes de framboises écrasées ainsi qu’à des pointes chocolatées, de violettes fraîches et à une subtile pointe mentholée et cacaotée en fond très discret de s’exprimer. Les tannins sont souples, gourmands et étirés. Il y a une jolie texture et un joli moelleux sur la fin de bouche persistante. Petit à petit une très discrète note presque toastée voire de noisettes toastées en fond apparaît.
