The wine has a deep, dark, but not quite opaque, black-ruby color. Aromas of cedar & chocolate overlay open red-plum fruit. The wine is medium to full bodied with fresh acidity leaving the fruit lively & juicy. Attractive violet perfumes open on the finish after the fine cedary tannic structure. The finish lasts well & the alcohol gives hints of warmth, without overpo. The structure is closing the fruit a little at present but lovely perfumes are evident. 11/24 DCAMW

Very deep to opaque ruby-red color. The nose has a medium to full intensity, but the dark-fruit is quite closed - tobacco-leaf, tar & mint aromas showing instead. The palate is powerful & deep with redcurrant fruit overlaid by notes of raisins & chocolate. Acidity is balanced allowing the red fruit to overlay the fine, firm structure on the finish. Alcohol is balanced & the wine's harmonious finish lasts very well. 11/93 DCAMW

Deep, dark ruby-red, is opaque. The nose has a good intensity of deep, dark brooding cassis fruit overlaid by coffe, tobacco & chocolate. The wine is dry with a good weight and a rounded warm texture. The dark fruit is initially quite closed & tobacco, leather & cedar notes predominating. Alcohol is balanced & the structured finish lasts well, the plentiful spicy tannins giving way to powerful ripe fruit at the end. Powerful, robust & ageworthy. 11/94 DCAMW
